About
I’m a media professional with more than 30 years of content creation under my belt. I’ve worked almost every newspaper beat, from weekly community handouts to dailies, and contributed to a vast selection of trade, consumer and B2B publications in New Zealand, the UK and the UAE. Over recent years, my work for Ford’s PR and marketing departments has been used to support internal and external storytelling, and product launch campaigns across more than 100 countries. One of my first ever jobs was to photograph Elizabeth II during her royal visit to New Zealand in 1990. It was my first exposure to the pressures of working on breaking news stories, and the push-shove aggression of the international media circus that follows key global figures. To be thrust into a royal walk-around with a basic 35mm camera and be asked to come back with a selection of images worth publishing was an exhilarating experience. Sometimes, the deep end is the only place to swim. My wife and I moved to the UAE in 2010, and in February 2011, our son was born. We love the opportunities the UAE offers families and professionals, and we feel lucky to be able to call the UAE home. Away from work, I can be found in the desert or exploring the wonders of the UAE and Oman. I’m happiest when I’m creating – either with camera in hand, or laptop open.
